Snuffy's Quest Snuffy's Quest is the story of a young boy whose determination to set out on his own to join and study under a secret order of mystics and sages leads to much more than the great adventures he imagined. As the boy reaches manhood, he learns of a wicked queen with a magical green glove. The lure of the magical glove becomes too much for him, and so he searches for three years until he finds the wicked queen. He discovers, however, that the queen has a beautiful maid, and when he asks the wicked queen for permission to marry the young maid, the queen becomes irate and turns him into a dragon. The quest that ensues as Snuffy the Dragon uncovers the secret of regaining his human form is poignant and uplifting. The ending is one that will bring a smile into your heart. Written in verse, Snuffy's Quest at times includes words that are probably not easily understood by very young children. I read this story to a five-year-old, then asked him what the story was about. He said he didn't know, but excitedly requested that I read it again! Sometimes children just love to be read to, even if they don't understand the concept of what you're telling them. Adults who read Snuffy's Quest to their children will surely find a tear or two brimming in their eyes upon reading the last paragraph of this endearing story. Gloomwing Review by B.R.
